Study visit of the Antwerp School for Librarians and Information
Professionals to the CNR Central Library
Professors and students of the Antwerp School for Librarians and Information professionals (Stedelijk centrum voor volwassenenonderwijs “Pestalozzi” – Graduaat Bibliotheekwezen) paid a study visit to the CNR Central Library to gain some insight into the main activities and work procedures in place in Italy’s largest scientific library.
The visit started with a general presentation which highlighted the Library’s most important functional and disciplinary features (speeches by B. Sebastiani, History and computerised catalogation; A. M. Campanile, Grey literature and technical rules; P. Piro – G. Migliorelli, European Union official documentation) followed by an analysis of more specific aspects concerning the bibliographic/document management of the Library’s collections and the organization of reference services (speeches by L. De Biagi, Serials collection; L. Tiberi, Reference services and online documentation; F. Cancedda, Cartographic materials collection).
At the end of the meeting, the participants thanked the CNR Central Library staff and congratulated them on organising what they deemed a valuable event.
