UNI ISO 2384 Standard
The UNI ISO 2384 standard, Documentation. Presentation of translation, was introduced to define the criteria governing the presentation of translations in a standardized form designed to suit different categories of users.
It is the Italian language version of the ISO 2384 international standard (March 1977 edition) and applies to translations of all documents.
UNI’s Chairman announced its adoption on March 28, 2001.
As a member of the Technical Committee (Information and Documentation) of Italy’s National Standards Body, which is part of ISO/TC46, the Central Library participated actively in the activities of terminological review and control.
In particular, the Central Library holds the presidency of Subcommittee 9: "Document identification and description” (AM. Campanile, Chairman, L. Bonanni, V. Casolino, M. Cennamo, G. Cordani, G. Merola, G. Negrini, D. Parrini, C. Pucci, R. Ravaglia, B. Sebastiani) and is in charge of supervising its proper functioning.
During 2000/2001, Subcommittee 9 carried out routine reviews of 14 more ISO standards to rule whether or not they should be confirmed.
