CNR DATABASE OF VIBRATION LEVELS
The CNR Central Library, in cooperation with the Institute for Agricultural and Earthmoving Machines (IMAMOTER), is working on a project for the “Production of a database pursuant to Legislative Decree n. 187/2005, transposing EU Directive 2002/44/EC on the minimum safety and health requirements governing workers’ exposure to vibration-related risks”.
In particular, article 4 of Legislative Decree 187/05, “ Risk assessments”, at paragraph 1 reads: “In compliance with the provisions of article of legislative decree n. 626 of September 19, 1994, employers shall assess and, whenever information on vibration levels is not available on ISPESL, regional or CNR databases or directly from either producers or suppliers, shall measure by themselves the levels of mechanical vibrations to which their workers are exposed”.
The contributions made by the Project include:
a) a database (mostly managed by the Central Library) containing: EU and national regulations on vibrations in the workplace; technical requirements; relevant bibliographies;
b) technical assistance (mostly provided by the Institute for Agricultural and Earthmoving Machines) for employers and the other actors responsible for the implementation of the provisions.
In particular, the contents of the database are articulated as follows:
• general EU, national and, if applicable, regional regulations;
• technical standards (UNI, UNI ISO, UNI ENV standards);
• technical counselling (centre for technical guidance on the defined standards);
• bibliography of scientific publications on the issue of vibrations in the workplace.
• initiatives and events.
The Project includes cooperation with ISPESL and equivalent regional bodies.
